A state trooper has been arrested after allegedly taking jewelry from a person who died in a motorcycle crash in September. Trooper Aaron Huntsman, 43, an 18-year veteran of the state police, faces two counts of third-degree larceny. He is also charged with interfering with police and tampering with evidence. Huntsman's police powers have been suspended, according to a release from the state police, and an internal affairs investigation is underway.Read more »

While Gregory Sciance was locked inside the Hamilton County Jail for a probation violation, Sgt. Wanda Smith was out buying groceries with his food stamps. Due to lax security in the state's welfare program and lax morals on the part of Ms. Smith, she was able to unlock Sciance's EBT card and make several purchases totaling over $300. Now that Sciance is free from jail, the only place he can afford to eat is at the community soup kitchen.Read more »
Joshua Messier had a good life that was turned upside down by the onset of schizophrenia, then ended at the age of 23 at the hands of correction officers at Bridgewater State Hospital. The hospital is run by the state prison system, and is home to the most violent mentally ill people in Massachusetts.
Officers while restraining Josh, suffocated him literally to his death. His death certificate says cause of death, is "cardiopulmonary arrest during physical restraint". The manner of death is ruled a homicide. The officers involved have been cleared of any wrongdoing.Read more »
A police officer who wrote a $2,500 ticket to a mother on a public urination complaint against her 3-year-old son has been fired, City Manager Jim Crosby said Tuesday. Crosby said he fired officer Ken Qualls on Friday, following a hearing Nov. 14.
Prosecutors at the Canadian County district attorney's office declined to pursue the case against the mother, Crosby said.

OMAHA, NE -- A man walked his dog along the sidewalk and came a little too close to some peace officers. The peace officers tackled the man, and then shot his dog in the head. He was charged with obstructing justice and resisting arrest.
The dog was a friendly labrador/golden retriever mix, was on a leash, and showed no aggression. The neighbor who recorded the incident said, “The dog did nothing aggressive. I've lived next to this dog two and a half years and it’s one of the best dogs.”Read more »

A Cleburne teenager was hit with a Taser by police while he was having a medical emergency, and the incident was caught on tape.
It now means police in the city of Cleburne will be required to watch another video – a diabetes training video.
"They break down my door," Black recounts. "I'm sitting there in my wheel chair. I'm about 100 pounds of shriveled-up cancer and a threat to no one." Colin Farmer, 61, was hit after reports of a man walking through Chorley, Lancashire, early on Friday evening, with a sword. Members of the state’s 150-man elite police force have been trying to get to the bottom of who’s behind parody Twitter accounts lampooning city council members. The mock tweeters include one councilman’s moustache. Another from the handle Laughable Loll cracked, “I shined my head extra special for tonight so the camera would reflect off of it.” Not laughing is the local prosecutor. A 22-year-old man with severe food allergies died in the Snohomish County jail after a pot bust. She said her son brought along a bag of medications needed to control his allergies and asthma. He turned himself in on a warrant that was issued when he missed a court date. "He was scared," his mother said. "I said, 'You are doing the right thing. They are going to take care of you.' He said, 'I have a bad feeling that they are not going to take me seriously.'"Read more »
Two police officers repeatedly pummeled a shirtless man in a Jewish youth center in Brooklyn after they roused him from sleeping and moved to arrest him, surveillance video released Sunday night shows. Police ran over a young man who was caught stealing paving stones, putting him in a coma. The mother required police permission to visit her son for only 20 minutes. He died after six days. On the day of his funeral, police broke into her home to serve a search warrant for the wrong address.
