New Hampshire Bans Private Prisons!

http://RevolutionNews.US - In recent decades the prison industry has become a booming business in the US - with only 5% of the world's population, 25% of all the prisoners of the world are in American jails. However now it looks like one state has a problem with that business model.

This is not a victory. A voluntary society still needs prisons. Private prisons. Run and funded voluntarily by those private institutions that enforce the laws of the roads and prove security.

Anyone who thinks that this is a victory is not thinking about individual liberty, rather supporting the state. You are not looking to solve the real issue that is the laws and enforcement there of, or judges overruling the remuneration for breaking the law.

Private does not equal "free market"

The Prison Industrial Complex is not a supporter of individual liberty and has nothing to do with the free market. That's like saying Blackwater is about peace and liberty or the Federal Reserve is about prosperity and liberty.

Privatization of some government programs may be better than government running the programs in certain circumstances but it's not a step toward the programs becoming market based. Many times corporations colluding with government is actually worse. This is definitely one of those times.
