Except for getting Egypt

Except for getting Egypt wrong, S.F. has done a wonderful job of encapsulating not only the problem of enslavement, but also its cure.

I wonder, for a self-professed non-religious person, why he fell for the Bible version of history? Egypt didn't use vast hordes of slaves, because for a month or two every year, the entire population was "out of work" as the Nile flooded.

Their religion was intellectual enslavement to the God King, sort of a precursor to the God State we have now.

As an exercise for the student, it's also important to realize that simple slavery, the "ownership" of someone else, has been practiced by every culture, everywhere, at one time or another. It was perfectly normal, just as accepted as work-gangs of prisoners cleaning the road today, slaves to the State.
