Rep. Waxman sneaks anti-vitamin amendment into Wall St. Reform

http://www.naturalnews.com

Of all the sneaky tactics practiced in Washington D.C., this recent action by Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is one of the most insidious: While no one was looking, he injected amendment language into the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) that would expand the powers of the FTC (not the FDA, but the FTC) to terrorize nutritional supplement companies by greatly expanding the power of the FTC to make its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.

Want to get rich? Work for feds

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com

For decades, public sector unions have peddled the fantasy that government employees were paid less than their counterparts in the private sector. In fact, the pay disparity is the other way around. Government workers, especially at the federal level, make salaries that are scandalously higher than those paid to private sector workers. And let's not forget private sector workers not only have to be sufficiently productive to earn their paychecks, they also must pay the taxes that support the more generous jobs in the public sector.

http://christianengstrom.wordpress.com

”Child pornography is great,” the speaker at the podium declared enthusiastically. ”It is great because politicians understand child pornography. By playing that card, we can get them to act, and start blocking sites. And once they have done that, we can get them to start blocking file sharing sites”.

US-trained Somali soldiers defect to al-Qaida

http://www.guardian.co.uk

Hundreds of Somali soldiers trained with US funding have deserted, with some crossing over to the al-Qaida-linked militants they are supposed to be fighting, it emerged today.

The troops, backed with millions of US dollars, are leaving the ranks because they are not receiving their $100 (£65) monthly wage. The desertions raise fears that an American-backed drive next month to strengthen Somalia's army may increase the ranks of the insurgency.

Creepy PA "Tax Amnesty" Advertisment

http://www.pataxpayup.com

The PA dept. of revenue recently started a "tax amnesty" program for people who "owe" PA back taxes. The advertising campaign they launched for this, with the money of the people they are attempting to extort, is, to put it mildly, super creepy. All of them are along the lines of "we know who you are, where you are, and WE OWN YOUR STUFF." The URL goes straight to their advertising campaign webpage, where they have kindly posted all of the spots, probably thinking they are funny, rather than threatening and creepy.

Judge throws out arrest of cop accused in fatal DUI crash

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

A Cook County judge today ruled that a Chicago police officer accused of drunk driving in a fatal crash on Thanksgiving 2007 was arrested and detained without probable cause.

Judge Thomas V. Gainer Jr. also called the police lieutenant who ordered Officer John Ardelean's arrest not a credible witness.

"Probable cause to arrest in this case comes down to the credibility of Lt. (John) Magruder and this court does not believe Lt. Magruder's testimony," Gainer wrote in his opinion.

Fluoride Was First Used In Nazi Germany

http://www.youtube.com

Senator in TN is sending letters to water plants in his state requesting they stop putting fluoride in public water. He is against fluoride in water for many reasons but notably, because it is medicating people without their consent. It is always refreshing to see someone take issue with that aspect. The ADA is now telling parents NOT to make baby formula using fluoridated water. Just incredible that we are supposed to blindly trust the whims of government and their regulations.
