Government sure knows how to efficiently spend money. West Virginia has spent $24 million on 1,164 Cisco model 3945 branch routers for their government offices (adding up to 1 high end enterprise level router per 13 government employees). And if you are wondering why a town would spend so much on enterprise routers, it is because a few bureaucrats did not understand much about networking and instead went to the sales person from cisco and had recommend the equipment needed. So the end result is that cisco recommended their top of the line router for every single location, including a small 1 room trailer.
